Tipping Policy in Mauritius

We say that tipping is not compulsory in Mauritius. The locals know that in order to earn tips an extra effort, work and attention needs to be given to the clients. However, hotels, tour operators, guides and restaurants are always going to do their utmost best to make you happy with their services, to earn those tips. The tipping policy is therefore very simple, you tip when you feel an extra service and attention has been given to you or if you feel very content and satisfied with a situation. The amount really depends on the place you are staying and you as a person.
