This inspiring quote describes this association perfectly which is dedicated to empower Mauritian artisans from underprivileged backgrounds.
Clay, coconut, Bamboo and recycled materials are used to create original souvenirs. This social project started in 2006 through the support of Fondation Espoir Developpement Beachcomber and is ever growing since. It is the aim of the foundation to help local artisans to have access to the market and to earn a decent living.
You can visit the workshop in Bambous and see the ladies in action or find those handmade products at the Local Hands shop in Trou aux Biches or at Le Rendez-Vous Boutique, at La Crioisette in Grand Bay.
